Anu Viltrop

Anu Viltrop is the Executive Director of the Estonian Museum Association. For many years, she worked with the Estonian Refugee Council, supporting people with refugee backgrounds and helping to organize a system of services to assist them. Today, Anu volunteers with the Social Insurance Board, where she supports women affected by severe domestic violence. She also assists as a volunteer for the Ukrainian military.

This background has shown Anu how essential self-care truly is—you can only help others when you're doing well yourself. In her workshop, Anu shares practical tips and insights gathered from real-life experience.

At NEMO’s European Museum Conference 2025, Anu Viltrop will facilitate “A practical self-care workshop” on Monday, 27 October.

Workshop abstract:

A practical self-care workshop

Even with all our tech tools, time keeps speeding up—we fill every moment with more tasks instead of enjoying the time we’ve freed up. We may work fewer hours, but burnout and work addiction are more common than ever, and caring for others often comes before caring for ourselves. In this workshop, we’ll explore the signs of burnout and work addiction, reflect on our self-care habits, and create a practical plan to take better care of ourselves. Every little choice helps you feel more joy in life and can go a long way in preventing burnout and exhaustion.
