NEMO Recommendations for Museums in Preparation for the European Parliament Elections

With the purpose of showcasing the importance of museum and culture to MEPs, NEMO has released the document "Priorities for Museums - NEMO Recommendations for the European Parliament Elections in 2019", NEMO has released recommendation that list the 5 priorities that the network sees as crucial for museums in Europe: 1) Digitisation, 2) Learning, 2) Mobility for capacity-building, 4) adequate frameworks to measure the multidimensional value of museums and 5) a renewed and improved support for cultural heritage.

NEMO urges people to bring the document of recommendations to members of the European parliament in order to illustrate the importance of museums and culture to them. NEMO finds that museums stand in the very centre of facilitating a shared European identity and that culture is omnipresent in every policy field. NEMO hopes that as many MEPs as possible will read the recommendations and that they will be convinced that culture needs to be a part of every party’s work programme.
