At the meeting, DG CNECT G2 presented a Recommendation on a common European data space for cultural heritage published by the European Commission last November and the first calls for preparatory actions for cultural heritage related data spaces. The pandemic triggered some changes that prompted a considerably wider take-up of digital technologies and an acceleration of digitalisation of the field.
After being nominated on 28 June 2023 by Ursula von der Leyen, Iliana Ivanova was approved as the new Commissioner for Innovation, Research, Culture, Education and Youth by the European Parliament on 12 September.
